Camera-Ready Hair & Makeup for Commercial Production
For this Telemundo commercial, I had the pleasure of working alongside Beauty by Nataly (@beautybynaty) to provide hair and makeup for the production. Nataly and I have worked together on many projects over the years, and there’s something so nice about being on set with an artist you know and trust. We work well together, communicate easily, and can keep things moving while still making sure every person in our chair feels taken care of.
For this campaign, we wanted the hair and makeup to feel fresh, natural and polished—camera-ready without looking overly done. We focused on beautiful skin, soft definition and hair that still had movement and felt effortless on camera.
Production hair and makeup is about so much more than getting talent ready at the beginning of the day. Once filming starts, we’re watching all of those little details between takes—shine, flyaways, hair placement, lip color, complexion and overall continuity. Lighting, wardrobe, weather and location can all change throughout a shoot, so being able to make quick adjustments while keeping the day moving is an important part of our job.
One of the things I love most about production work is being part of the team behind the scenes. Everyone has a role in bringing the final vision together, and our goal with hair and makeup is to help talent feel comfortable and confident while giving the production team one less thing to worry about.
For larger productions, corporate events and multi-talent shoots, Beauty by Blythe also has a trusted team of professional hair and makeup artists available. We can build the team around the needs of the production, number of talent and schedule—whether that means additional artists for morning prep, multiple hair and makeup stations, or artists staying on set throughout the day for touch-ups and camera-ready support.
Having a team available allows us to take on larger projects while keeping everything organized, consistent and personal. From a small commercial shoot to a full production day with multiple talent, our goal is always the same: come prepared, work efficiently, take great care of the people in our chairs and make the hair and makeup side of the day feel easy.
It was such a fun project to be a part of, and I’m always grateful for the opportunity to work alongside talented artists like Nataly and creative production teams that make days like this happen.
